I’m Kenneth Bechard, the proud owner of Arrival Benefit Solutions.

For twenty years, I built a career in productivity improvement by traveling all over the world. However, in the last five years, I took a keen interest in financial planning, and during the last three, I focused on group benefits.
My initial stint with group benefits was when I joined my wife in her financial planning business. After a few years into financial planning, I naturally gravitated to group benefits as I love working with business owners.
I like visiting my clients, learning about their entrepreneurial story, touring their operation, and using some of my past experiences to talk shop with them. Being personable with my clients allows me to build strong connections with them and offer them peace of mind. At the same time, owning my own business allows me the flexibility to give back to the community.
Compared to when I began, the insurance industry has become a lot more competitive, and clients are feeling the crunch with rising healthcare costs. To meet the evolving needs of my clients, I currently need to be focused more than ever on cost-effective solutions.
However, when a client needs benefits for their employees and knows it, I don’t sell them the concept of group benefits. I’m here to educate business owners on all the insurance options available to them. That way, they can drive the process at their pace and be there at the end to implement the most appropriate solution for their business.
With vast experience in various businesses, I have come to realize that honesty is the key to building trust in a relationship with my clients. Sometimes benefit plan discussions are tough, and there is no use in downplaying the facts. It is what it is. But, what I can do for my clients is look for alternatives to help them make the best decisions possible, given the circumstance.
As a group benefits specialist, I have tasted success on countless occasions, and I believe they are the result of various factors that set me apart from the rest. For starters, I have around twenty years of business knowledge, so I know what it takes to build a sustainable firm, and I can find common ground with most business owners. At the same time, I am very approachable and easy to have a conversation with. I treat everyone with respect from CEOs to floor operators. Similarly, I look up to my clients, as they have built a successful business by taking risks, and I admire them for that and want to help them protect what they’ve achieved.
My most satisfying moment in this business was when I convinced a client to stay the course of their plan as they would save money in the long run. They trusted me, and one year later, I was proven right. One a different note, in my first year as a group benefits specialist, I had to deliver a death claim check to a young mother and let her know she had two years’ worth of survivor benefits for her and her child. This, of course, is not much given the situation, but it was the maximum I could deliver, and I delivered.
When I am not at work, I spend most of my free time in philanthropy. I am a Rotary Youth Exchange Chair and the president of a Rotary club, which takes all of my free time. I also contribute to the 100 men of Chatham Kent charity and United-Way. Other than that, I like meeting friends for some social time after work or spending my days off golfing and gardening.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
